Fainaru fantajî sebun adobento chirudoren" is a sequel to "Final Fantasy VII" that takes place two years after the original events. The planet is now facing a new threat in the form of a disease called 'Seikon-Shoukougun', also known as 'Geostigma'. This illness is believed to be a result of the body's reaction to foreign material that invaded it at the end of the previous installment. Cloud Strife, the ex-SOLDIER, is living a secluded life, haunted by his past and guilt-ridden. He runs "Strife's Delivery Service" from Tifa Lockheart's bar, Seventh Heaven, which also doubles as an orphanage for children affected by Geostigma. Tifa looks after Barret's daughter, Marlene, while Barret searches for a new energy source for the planet. Cloud is asked for help by Rufus, the former president of Shinra, to protect him from a mysterious man named Kadaj. Kadaj, along with his brothers Loz and Yazoo, poses a new threat to the planet.
